Peter Stark
Conductor
Programme to include: A gala programme of well loved operatic arias Orchestral interludes and overtures by Verdi (La Forza del Destino), and Wagner (Tristan and Isolde)

As part of an exciting season of courses and educational events, the Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra is thrilled to collaborate with alumni singers of the National Opera Studio to put together a gala programme of iconic arias, plus orchestral overtures.

From love and tragedy, to mythology, revenge, and heroism, we invite you to join us on a musical celebration of the power of the orchestra and voice, and how characters and themes can be brought to life through music. The performance will conclude the Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra’s intensive four-day rehearsals, and is an inspiring opportunity for our next generation of young professionals to learn more about the wonders of opera.

Peter Stark’s performances as a conductor are exhilarating, imaginative and inspiring. At the heart of all his work lies a passion and commitment to the study and practice of music to profit humanity. He has been the Principal Conductor of the Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra since 1994, and between 1985 and 2010 Peter was Conductor in Residence of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, amongst many other notable National and Youth orchestras from around the world.

We are excited to be working with the alumni of the National Opera Studio, which exists to train talented young musicians, and aims to significantly contribute to the wider creative and cultural life of the UK through the provision of top-quality professional training
